The Confident Birth Blueprint FAQs

Q: How long do I get access for?

A: For the online class you get lifetime access. This included any updates or things added to the course!

Q:What does this birth class cover?

A: This is a comprehensive birth class that starts with the foundations of birth anatomy so you know exactly how your body works which allows you to trust it. We cover everything from how to effectively push, different positions that are best for each part of labor, mindfulness and breathwork, building your postpartum plan and to end we talk about newborn and momma care in the postpartum phase!

Q: When should I start the course?

A: As soon as you can! If you do 1 module a week it will take you about 15 weeks to complete. Some modules are shorter than others so they may not take a week to go through. When I say a week this means 20-30 minutes a day not hours upon hours of watching videos.

Since you have lifetime access you can go back and refresh yourself on a module or two as many times as you need.

If you are having your baby soon,  you can still benefit from the module. Some education is better than none at all. If you need recommendations on which modules to start with depending on your unique situation feel free to email me tmabirth@gmail.com

Q: I want a hospital birth and maybe an epidural, is this class for me?

A: Absolutely!! I have clients that choose things from all over the spectrum. Birth education is meant to inform you on your body, how you can trust and work with it and how you can have informed decision making around your experience. I always say to plan like you won't have an epidural so that you will know how to cope in those early stages before you are at the hospital ready to receive one, in case your epidural stops working or if your baby comes too fast to get an epidural. You will have the tools in place to help you and for your partner to know what to do for you no matter what.

Q: Does my partner have to participate?

A: Ideally yes, if you want your partner to be involved in your birth then it is really important for them to have the education to know how to support you through it all. Especially when it comes to knowing how to keep your space safe. I have a module dedicated to that specifically. If your partner is like my husband he would rather listen than watch, so you can access the course on your phone and listen to the modules during your commute or anytime there is some free time. Ideally if you both could set 30 minutes a few times a week to watch and do at least one activity a week then I know that it will not only prepare you both for birth but it will allow you both to connect to each other in a deeper way.

Q: Will this class still work for me if I am a single parent?

A: Yes! Although I do reference partners a lot in this course the foundations and skills are there for moms to take charge of their experience. The partner that I reference too could also be anyone that is going to be there for you through your labor and birth and postpartum as well. For example you mom, sister, friend or our doula would be someone to have watched this course alongside you if they will be supporting you.

Q: Does this course cover hospital interventions?

A: Yes, I have a module specifically for how to build your birth intentions which goes over common hospital birth interventions and what the pros and cons are for each along with evidence based information to help you make informed decisions around you and your baby's care.

Q: Do I need to take a childbirth class?

A: If you take this class, another one or nothing your body WILL know what to do. The problem lies within how much we understand and trust that. Research has shown that taking a childbirth class reduces your chances for unwanted and unnecessary interventions, increases your overall experience and improves outcomes. When we step into the system blindly we are putting the power into the hands of providers that may not even remember your name. So by educating yourself you are taking back your power, your partner is able to trust your body and therefore your ability to trust the process is easier knowing that you are being supported by those that trust in your ability to give birth 100%! Knowledge is power and the biggest way to work with fears is to educate yourself of those things.

Q: Which class do you recommend for those that want hands-on learning?

A: I recommend the Hybrid course if you are able to travel to Provo, Utah. This course includes the online class and saves you and your partner a spot in one of my hands-on workshops that are held every other month. Check my website for the next class.

Q: Will this class prepare my partner to support me?

A: Yes! This class is geared towards helping your partner learn how to help you. The key here is practice. The more you practice together the more confident they will be in their ability to support you.

Q: Do you accept HSA and FSA?

A: Yes. If you wish to pay using one of these two accounts, please send me an email tmabirth@gmail.com and let me know. I will then send you an invoice via email and you can pay it with your HSA or FSA account.

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: I am not currently offering refunds after you purchase the online or hybrid birth class. If you are unhappy with your purchase please email me tmabirth@gmail.com and I would be happy to have a conversation as to why and how I can help. If you purchased the Hybrid class by mistake and it is 30 days before the hands-on workshop is held please let me know through an email and I can see what I can do, however I will not be able to refund for the online birth class portion of the Hybrid class.
